Aha, got u. I changed the settings to make commenter info and preview button mandatory. In just those few minutes between allowing and writing this comment I got 6 spams. All from one IP: 195.225.177.6. Damn, that guy had prepared a good bot for spamming drupal sites.

well I was just thinking perhaps a large amount of spammers do not fill the compulsry email and name fields, in that case they'll submit but it will get refused.

another thing to try is make preview required not optional. some automated spam bots will just submit once and never get past the review part.

I'm thinking after the upgrade to offer captcha as the least resource hungry spam solution.
